Review payroll, commission and tax records
Review current income, closed originals, owner adjustments and recorded payments.
Before you start
Payroll sections and edits depend on your access. Some export or Tax Company tools require additional setup or a plugin.
Open PayrollStep by step
Select and review the period
Select the salon and payroll period. Compare services, tips, staff assignments and payroll settings with the underlying tickets. Open periods show estimated income.
Understand automatic closing
After the pay period ends in the salon time zone, payroll closes into an immutable original. A processing or review message means the verified original is not ready; reload later or contact support. Do not treat an estimate as a closed record.
Review an owner adjustment
Only the owner can adjust a closed original. Open Adjust income, review the staff member and amounts, enter a reason, and submit once. Reload to verify the recorded adjustment and before/after history. The original remains unchanged.
Record a payment after it occurs
After paying staff outside the app, use Record actual payment to record cash, check, date and note. Verify the result before retrying. This records evidence only: it does not move money, collect overpayments or deduct future wages.
Compare original, adjusted and paid amounts
Review Original income, Adjustment, Recorded as paid and Income minus recorded payments. A negative balance means recorded payments exceed current income. Older Paid flags are not imported as payment evidence; verify them before adding a payment record.
Review the Tax Company record
Tax Company reports use the closed original with recorded adjustments. Verify the period, legal names, reported amounts and paystubs. Final check income is not proof that a check was received; check the payment records separately.
Detailed walkthroughs
Reconcile one staff pay period
- Select the salon and payroll period. Compare services, tips, staff assignments and payroll settings with the underlying tickets. Open periods show estimated income.
- After the pay period ends in the salon time zone, payroll closes into an immutable original. A processing or review message means the verified original is not ready; reload later or contact support. Do not treat an estimate as a closed record.
- Only the owner can adjust a closed original. Open Adjust income, review the staff member and amounts, enter a reason, and submit once. Reload to verify the recorded adjustment and before/after history. The original remains unchanged.
- After paying staff outside the app, use Record actual payment to record cash, check, date and note. Verify the result before retrying. This records evidence only: it does not move money, collect overpayments or deduct future wages.
Check the result: The staff identity, period, original, adjustments and recorded payment evidence agree. Review every adjustment reason and payment date before relying on the remaining balance.
Example: An original income of $600 plus a $20 owner adjustment gives $620. If $500 was actually paid and recorded, income minus recorded payments is $120. The app does not transfer that $120.
If something goes wrong
- If a submission fails or its outcome is unclear, reload and verify the history before retrying. Keep the same draft; do not create a second payment to work around a pending result.
- Payroll records do not transfer money or file or pay taxes. Staff can view only the payroll for their authorized linked identity.
